Highest priority skills: General AIX, AIX 6.1 , Upgrades
General AIX - Provide AIX systems administration, systems engineering and application integration for IBM/AIX servers in test, development, and production environments. NIM knowledge.
AIX 6.1 - Build, configure, and administer AIX LPARs in a POWER7 Environment -using AIX versions 6.1. AIX 7 a plus.
IBM Power Hardware - Firmware upgrades, HMCS, knowledge of IBM hardware
Virtualization - Support of application development within a virtualized environment. Experience with building LPARs and working with VIO servers.
Upgrades - Install and upgrade AIX, Technology levels, service packs
Oracle - Experience with and understanding of GPFS and Oracle RAC – from the perspective of a Unix admin. ASM a plus, as is experience with Oracle.
Backup - Experience with Netbackup and RMAN.
High Availability - Coordinate and implement HA/DR activities, using PowerHA/HACMP. Knowledge of VCS a plus.
Communication - Provide effective communication at all levels of management peers and customers through clarity of
expression and the ability to organize thoughts both written
and oral. Interact with IT staff and vendors regarding
complex testing or troubleshooting issues.
Capacity planning/performance - Provide input on capacity planning and systems performance. Experience with nmon and other IBM capacity planning and performance tools.
